      Hab bisher nur in Kill Bill von den gehört, wollte ich mir aber mal angucken, wenn sich die Gelegenheit ergibt.

      Es gibt zwar ne Bootleg DVD davon die ist abewr heftig geschnitten,UNCUT bekommst den in England oder Amerika von Pathfinder Entertaiment.
      Kaut Gerüchten soll eine 3er Box in Österreich erscheinen,halte euch auf den laufenden was sich da tut.

      Soll einer der Lieblingsstreifen von Quentin Tarantino sein.

      Ich kenne noch "Die 36 Kammern der Shaolin".Habe den auf Video..leider vom Fernseh aufgenommen(lief wohl mal vor laaanger Zeit im ZDF).

      SB Classics Coming to German-Speaking Territories

      German and Austrian movie talents such as directors Fritz Lang and Billy Wilder and film idols Marlene Dietrich, Peter Lorre and Arnold Schwarzenegger all hold legacies in film history. Arguably, of similar significance would be the likes of Hong Kong directors Chang Cheh, Lau Kar Leung, Chu Yuan and superstars Gordon Liu Chia-hui, Chen Kuan-tai and Cheng Pei-pei, who were all part of the illustrious Shaw Brothers Studio which dominated Hong Kong and Asian cinema from the 60s through to the 90s.

      Celestial Pictures now owns the worldwide rights to the Shaw Brothers film library, the largest collection of Chinese-language films in the world with 760 films spanning all genres of Hong Kong cinema. The films range from unforgettable period dramas, enchanting musicals and charming romantic comedies to chilling horror fantasies and renowned martial-arts masterpieces.

      MCL MediaCom & Licensing Ltd. will be distributing home video formats of Celestial's Shaw Brothers film library and the documentary series Cinema Hong Kong for German-speaking territories.

      The Shaw Brothers films licensed by MCL will be the fully restored versions of the studio's movie classics. The titles include The Boxer From Shantung , The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin, Come Drink With Me, Killer Clans, and The Five Venoms.

      Cinema Hong Kong , a production of Celestial Pictures, is a landmark documentary series presenting a retrospective of one of the world's most dynamic filmmaking traditions - the Hong Kong movie industry. MCL will be distributing two one-hour episodes of the series, which offer viewers a fascinating and incisive look into the martial-arts genres of sword fighting and kung fu.

      William Pfieffer, CEO of Celestial Pictures, said: "Celestial Pictures is honored that the Shaw Brothers film masterpieces will be made available to German-speaking audiences in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . We would like to thank Gerhard Huck and his team at MCL for their enthusiasm toward the incomparable Shaw Brothers films. We are confident that MCL will do a fantastic job in presenting these films to the German-speaking territories."

      Gerhard Huck, Managing Director of MCL commented: "We are thrilled to be working on Celestial's Shaw Brothers films and are very proud to be given the opportunity to present this sensational Shaw Brothers library to German movie-fans.       Exclusively distributed by MiB Medienvertrieb in Buchholz, the first five Shaw Brothers films are planned to be launched in September, 2004.

      Mir solls recht sein. Denn die original Covers sehen wirklich super aus. Nur traurig, dass sie so wenige Specials auf die DVDs gepackt haben. Ausser bis auf 'Die 36 Kammern der Shaolin' und 'Die Rückkehr zu den 36 Kammern der Shaolin', da ist jeweils ne Doku mit drauf.

      Ich hoffe das Bildformat ist OK, nicht dass eventuell noch wichtige Bildausschnitte verloren gehen. Aber ich habe ein gutes Gefühl bei den SB Classics.

      Mit Bestellen müssen wir uns wohl trotzdem noch etwas gedulden, da all diese DVDs derzeit nicht verfügbar sind.

      Das Schwert des gelben Tigers (The New one armed Swordsman) gehört doch auch dazu nicht wahr?..einer meiner Lieblingsfilme :)
